Expand is getting on with some very exciting projects this year and still needs your commitment and donations to continue helping develop this poor and rural area. Here are some of the projects for your information and you can decide where your donation goes to:

A photo of a local child with a basketball- The sports facilities
- The library (books/DVDs etc) & IT skills and training
- Pit-latrines
- Teacher and volunteer's houses
- Bursaries for secondary school students
- Informal education workshops
- Teacher training scheme
- Accommodation facilities at nearest Secondary school Mzenga
- Solar panels and renewable energy projects


Monthly donations can do so much!

- £1 will plant 3 trees in the community
- £5 will buy a bag of cement E.g ten are needed at the school and ten for the clinic to complete R & M
- £10 per month will pay for a volunteer teacher's salary for a month, or buy 5 litres of gloss paint to renovate the health centre
- £25 per month will help pay for a student to go to secondary school
- £35 per month pays for DSTV at the library/resource centre for news channels and create revenue
- £70 per month runs the library at Chisala for a month

You can specify where you want your donation to go to and will do our best to make it happen.

We need to get the charity mobile! £3,000 can buy a motorbike and £7,500 can buy a single cabin pick up.


Secondary School fees

It is important to help Chisala students move on in life by assisting with secondary school education, which is not free in Malawi. Our charity fund will encourage committed and promising students to fulfil their potential towards successful futures.

Secondary school bursary scheme

Anything from £10-25 a month will help towards the secondary school bursary scheme. We have set up a separate account for this and will be administered by Tanya, the project manager. Letters and pictures will be sent on a six monthly basis to show progress and maintain contact with the beneficiaries.

Our online donation facility via JustGiving has now been set up at www.justgiving.com/expand/donate.
